Paintings by Marshall Lysander Johnson convey the energy of the
Northwest. The Federal Way, Washington artist's distinctive style is
reflected in vibrant colors using palette knife and brushwork.
Johnson's primary medium is oil on canvas. Other works include
watercolors, acrylics, woodcuts, serigraphs, giclée and sculpture. Many
of his paintings have been reproduced as open edition prints or limited
edition lithographs and serigraphs.
A native of Bellingham, Washington, Johnson is a graduate of the
University of Washington and the Art Center College of Design in
California.
This award-winning artist has had many one-man shows. His work
has appeared in Northwest and national juried and invitational shows.
He has been a juror for several local art shows as well.
Well-known private and corporate collectors of his artwork
include the Space Needle, Boeing Company, Foss Maritime, U.S. West,
First Interstate and Key Banks, St. Joseph Hospital, Tacoma News
Tribune, and the United States Air Force at the Pentagon.
Johnson is an Artist/Member of the American Society of Marine
Artists
(ASMA) and a Life Member of the Northwest Watercolor Society.
