Bourgeat was born in 1962 in Paris where he studied at the Ecole de
Art
Graphique and the Ecole des Beaux Arts. He studied Graphic Arts
and quickly became attracted to the style of the Impressionist Masters.
However, he developed his own unique style of composition with a touch
of surrealistic perception. His 'En Plein Aire' painting reflects the
textures and subtle movements of changing light and reflection in his
water scenes around the Ile de France, Brittany, and
Alsace.
While on location he had the opportunity to meet the internationally
renowned artist Jean Kevorkian who was impressed with his masterly
display of color and light. Bourgeat has spent some time under his
watchful eye and his work has evolved to a new level of sophistication.
Bourgeat has exhibited at the Salon Maurice in Paris and the Salon de
Promodiere in Brittany. Galleries in
France have represented him for more than 10 years, and in the U.S. he
has representation in New York, California, Connecticut, Washington and
other major galleries around the country.
